The transition to a full tele-medicine hormone clinic has been some time in the making. But circumstances recently changed and now Dr Newton is going full steam with this new way to deliver specialist medical care.
It’s new to her clients but not in the general medical world. Some specialists who are city based are using this method to treat patients in remote and rural areas.
Friends of ours who live in The USA tell us this is a common way to do certain medical appointments.
The acceptance has been high with only a couple of people not liking the idea. The result for patients is exactly the same, with the usual blood tests, and Dr Newton using those results to help her clients balance their hormones and in turn live healthier happier lives.
With the option of Skype, facetime (for those with an iphone) or phone the sessions are going extremely well.
The convenience of not having to travel to a medical center and sit in a waiting room especially during flu season is very appealing to those who lead busy lives or prefer not to risk exposure to colds and flus.
The hic-cups have been small and mostly technical in nature, such as Sues much loved iMac playing up and then having some drama installing specialised security software on her new laptop.
This software allows your pathology and general information to be transferred electronically with complete security.
Also we have a different data base system than Sue was using at her previous medical practice. Fortunately Sue is a wizard with technology and has the patience to sort out problems.
One of the major benefits is that it doesn’t matter where you live or where we live your care will continue because the flexible nature of tele medicine.
We will be offering free health programmes in the coming weeks to further assist Sue’s clients, everyone who has registered at Sues website will be advised when this service will be available.
